Hey someone needs to tell the poor ol’ fart to leave the kill switch on the next revision so it won’t hit anything if he pops a wheelie and falls off. Relatively certain no one would have called the police had his chair not damaged their vehicle and they simply got up and went home after it stopped because no one was sitting in it (like the lawnmower he built it from would have). Confiscated because there are rules as to what constitutes a vehicle that can be legally operated on roadways.
FYI: This chair reached over $40,000 in bids then the La-Z-Bot company had eBay pull it off auction, since it “defamed their character and was not in keeping with their goal for brand recognition”. In other words, they didn’t want a drunk guy associated with their chair. That company sounds like a lazy(La-Z) bunch!
The chair was re-listed and sold for $10,099. A Photo of Dennis in the chair sold for $710

It’s flattering to think that so many people actually believe the police came up with the whole idea to seize and sell off this guys chair. This is the handiwork of your politicians who actually make the laws, not the police who just enforce them. Cops don’t always believe in all the laws out there, but thats not a cop’s job to decide if he agrees with it or not. It’s just easier for lazy people to blame the cops for doing what they’re told to do and if they don’t, it’s their career on the line.
